If you want to feel like you’re indispensable You should at least try to make yourself useful If this is the best that you’re able to offer Then maybe your expectations should be lower It’s time to separate What has worked from what has failed It’s time to set matters straight You’d like to make me feel like I am the bad guy You reject my ideas so you don’t have to try And when they succeed you credit them to yourself You only live in the eyes of everyone else It’s time to separate What has worked from what has failed It’s time to set things straight And realize it’s getting late Let’s set it all clear See where it will lead There are better things coming for me Let’s get to the point I can’t be your foil I would be alright on my own It’s time to separate What has worked from what has failed It’s time to set things straight And realize it’s getting late It’s time to separate What was dumb from what was great It’s time to set matters straight

I caught a glance in your eyes That is worth a thousand lies I felt the tone of your voice It was giving me no choice The process has just begun But I would rather be gone We know the rules from the start And I don't want to play this part Don't you think that there's Something going wrong? How can I go on? Don't you think that there's Something wrong with me? What more can I be? You don't have to understand That I'm tangled up in sand Don't have to make things easier You can wait another year Doesn't matter if I'm stuck Maybe it's all just bad luck I can't make you change your mind You shouldn't be wasting your time Don't you think that there's Something going wrong? How can you go on? Don't you think that there's Something wrong with you? What more can you do?

Stop 03:36
You tell me things that I’m not supposed to know I could not believe that you’d let your guard this low No one ever came to the point of telling you That behaving this way was not the safest thing to do Would you rather have me Undermining all your tries? Or do you want me to stop Messing with your head? And stop calling you at noon I’d never hesitate to make you look like a fool No compromise and there’s no way you’re free The harder you try, you still got nothing on me It always makes me laugh The way I’m feeding you with lies But you want me to stop Messing with your head And stop calling you at noon I’d never hesitate So you want me to stop Messing with your head And you want me to stop Messing with your head And stop calling you at noon I’d never hesitate to make you look like a fool

Always Right 03:44
Sometimes I get out of my way Be sure it’s for the greater good You do not have a thing to say I’d step in your face if I could Just because I’m always right Even when I should be wrong I’m so out of sight Only I know where I belong It’s something that I don’t understand Why don’t you just follow my lead Because when you know where you stand There’s nothing else you really need Just because I’m always right Even when I should be wrong I’m so out of sight Only I know where I belong Give me your good, give me your bad I’ll turn them into so much worse There’s nothing that can make me sad I’m not the one who bears a curse Just because I’m always right Even when I should be wrong I’m so out of sight Only I know where I belong

Once certain that No one could see No one could notice We’d make no waves And claim our own All the things we missed Oh tell no lies Is there no way to hide? They hated us They cursed our names They gave us no choice We tried our best To make them pay Not to be their toys Oh tell no lies There is no way we ever make it alive We’ll be gone With our backs against the wall Sure we’re bound to fall Nothing seems to matter at all Oh tell no lies There is no way we ever make it alive We’ll be gone With our backs against the wall Sure we’re bound to fall Nothing seems to matter at all

about

Zankerfeld Paris, France

Zankerfeld is my solo project, in which I write, play and sing mostly everything, though more people are being involved lately.

I used to be a member of Mond/green, The Skeletonz and Naphta.

In my spare time, I play guitar for Alex Le Play and for Olivier Rocabois.

I hope you will enjoy those songs as much as I enjoyed recording them.
